HOUSTON – Gallery Furniture’s Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is back to placing big bets for both himself and his customers this year, betting $3.46 million on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cover +3.5 against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl. In addition, if the Buccaneers win on Sunday, Gallery Furniture customers that spend $3,000 or more on a new mattress will get their money back.

“Tampa Bay is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and led by the greatest football player of all time in Tom Brady, so I’m betting big on the Bucs, who have overcome tough matchups throughout this postseason,” explained McIngvale in a story from DraftKings about the bet. “The NFL has only seen eight instances of back-to-back champions and none in the past 16 years, so I like my chances going into Super Bowl LV for this trend to continue.”

Bowl

McIngvale’s is the biggest bet placed on the Super Bowl this year, according to Action Network, a sports media and betting news site. If Tampa Bay covers, McIngale would win $6,150,440.

McIngvale is not new to placing large bets for both himself and his customers, having done so for the Super Bowl and several other sports playoffs. Last year, though the retail chain did not offer any Super Bowl promotions, McIngvale lost $1 million per playoff game the Chiefs won on their way to the Super Bowl when. Another promotion then called for the 49ers to win.
